I've been a little quiet on the blog this week. I've actually been very quiet. It wasn't intended but it happened when i had to bring my computer in for a new hard drive. I thought bringing it in would mean that I would find another way to work and post. But instead, an interesting and unexpected thing began to happen -- I relaxed. I let go of all of the ideas of what I should be doing. I decided it was okay if I didn't push myself too hard this week. That maybe what I needed for the start of 2013 was not to hit the ground running but to heal and rest (I just got over a bronchial infection). If I learned anything from my recent stress fracture, it is to listen to your body. Maybe instead of starting the year frantically working and hoping to catch up with all that I feel I needed to get done the day before, I need to do the exact opposite. Relax and come back into work with a clear head.
What about you? How are you starting the new year?
